You may have noticed some major changes taking place at Seaview House on Hantoon Road. The roof is done, windows and doors are installed and the plastering is underway in our new home. Everything is looking great.
Building work is due to be completed just before Christmas, with plans for the FRC to relocate in January. We'll keep you updated on progress over the next few weeks as we prepare for the Big Move. Just a notice to any local parents looking to meet up with others over the summer, that some of the members of the Parent and Toddler Group are hoping to meet up at around 10am on Thursday mornings at Maudlintown Playground over the next few weeks while group activities at the Centre are on a Summer Break. Hi All This is just a reminder that the Family Resource centre will be closed for the first two weeks of August for Summer Holidays and will re-open for administration or queries from mid-August. Groups and activities will resume in September once again. Looking forward to seeing you all again then, when we will hopefully be a step closer to commencing our new era in Seaview House. More news on that to come. Keep posted and have a safe summer. We would like to say a huge"thank you" to everybody involved in this year's Summer Fun for helping make it the best one ever. A team of local parents, teenagers, community volunteers, local businesses, the Faythe school and many more came together and put on a fantastic two weeks of action-packed fun for the young people of Southend. And just in time for the heatwave!! We hope everyone is having a well-deserved rest after all the excitement, especially as we will be gear up for Summer Fun 2014 before you know it!! Two dates for your diaries. The Acclaimed "Southend Singers" have 2 performances coming up that you won't want to miss.
The first will be part of the Commodore Barry Festival on The Quay on Sunday 23rd June at 1.30pm. There will also be a concert taking place in the Faythe School on Tuesday 25th June at 7.30pm, featuring the Southend Singers, the Rock Choir and The Faythe School Choir. Entry is free, and a raffle will take place on the night. Well done to the team of Southend Women who took part in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon on the June Bank Holiday. A brilliant day was had by all and much-needed funds were raised for this year's Summer Fun Programme. There is a weekly get-fit meet-up on the Rocks on Tuesdays at 3pm for anyone who is interested in getting a bit of gentle exercise, at your own pace, in the great outdoors. We do gentle stretching, some circuit training and light cardio and aerobic exercise, and laps of the pitch, at a jog or a walk, depending on your preferences and ability. C A meeting will take place at the Centre tomorrow morning, Wednesday 19th June, at 10.30am to finalise arrangements for the upcoming Summer Fun Programme, which is happening from 9th -
If you have helped us out as an adult Leader in the past, or would like to do so for the first time this year, please come along. We expect over one hundred children to participate this year, but in order to guarantee each day's activities, we must have at least 16 Adult Leaders in attendance. Hope to see you then. Many thanks. |
