Friday Morning Men's Group
"Friday's men" book
It started out as Breakfast, but it's turned into something a whole lot more...Back in 2009, we began a Breakfast Morning on Fridays as a way to encourage the men of the area to get involved in the Centre. What better way than the humble rasher to get the men through the door!
While the cooked breakfast is still a weekly offering, what has developed is a space for the men of the area to congregate and commune, share a laugh and remember past times.
One amazing outcome of this has been the production of "Friday's Men", an Oral History book featuring men from the group and including a photographic archive of all participants, produced in partnership with IT Carlow, Wexford Campus. The book was launched to great acclaim in March 2012.
The lads have also enjoyed numerous outings around the country together, often with a focus on maritime matters, which is a passion shared by many in the group.
If you'd like to come along to the group, please do at any time from 10am to 12pm on Friday mornings, or you can call Murt here at the Centre.
